BabyDoge Acquires LimeWire File Sharing Platform
The file sharing platform LimeWire has announced that the Web3 ecosystem BabyDoge has acquired LimeWire, with the financial terms of the deal undisclosed. Co-founders Julian Zehetmayr and Paul Zehetmayr have officially passed the baton, with the platform now led by Abel Czupor and BabyDoge. Abel Czupor stated that Julian and Paul built an infrastructure that serves approximately 8 million users monthly. As part of the acquisition, LMWR will become the native utility token of the LimeWire platform, used for decentralized file storage and platform AI tools among other services. The updated LimeWire Network product roadmap is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The BabyDoge community boasts over 3 million users and has previously set a Guinness World Record for animal charity donations. LimeWire was rebuilt and relaunched in 2022, stating that it has no affiliation with the original Lime Wire LLC or Lime Group LLC.
