BlackRock Brings Three Traditional Funds to Blockchain
BlackRock introduces three traditional investment funds on the blockchain through Ondo Finance. Investors receive a digital proof of ownership, a token, which is stored in a digital wallet. The money in the funds remains primarily in cash and short-term loans to the U.S. government. Only approved large investors and digital wallets can use the tokens. The blockchain is used for administration and the transfer of tokens, making ownership visible faster and easier to move. The products are intended for professional investors, whose identity and wallet must be verified in advance. Normal investment risks remain, supplemented by technical risks such as temporary blockchain outages or software errors.
