Cantor and Securitize partner on blockchain IPOs

Cantor Fitzgerald and Securitize are collaborating to enhance initial public offerings (IPOs) using tokenization and blockchain technology. Cantor will utilize its equity capital markets and trading capabilities, while Securitize will provide the necessary tokenization infrastructure for issuing, distributing, and servicing tokenized securities. This partnership aims to enable public companies to raise capital and issue securities onchain, improving operational efficiency and modernizing ownership records within the traditional capital markets framework. Unlike previous focuses on tokenized funds or secondary trading, this collaboration integrates blockchain infrastructure directly into IPOs and follow-on offerings. The partnership promotes an issuer-sponsored approach where the token represents the actual security, making tokenization a part of the issuance process. Carlos Domingo, Co-Founder and CEO of Securitize, emphasized that public companies should not have to choose between traditional capital markets and blockchain benefits. Pascal Bandelier, Co-CEO at Cantor, noted that this partnership allows for innovative capital-raising methods as markets evolve.
