China's central bank to inject $149 billion into the economy
The Chinese central bank will inject up to 1 trillion yuan (149 billion dollars) daily through short-term liquidity instruments, ahead of the upcoming Golden Week holiday. Reverse repurchase operations will be conducted from September 28 to October 8 to meet the short-term liquidity needs of the banking system. The entity did not specify on which days the operations will be executed nor revealed the financing cost. Before holidays in China, liquidity demand usually increases. Additionally, China's interbank bond market will suspend operations from September 25 to 27 for the Mid-Autumn Festival and from October 1 to 7 for National Day. The Chinese stock market will also remain closed during these dates and will resume trading on October 8.
