Coinsbuy Loses 7.9 Million Dollars Due to Hack
The Coinsbuy platform was hacked, resulting in a loss of approximately 7.9 million dollars in crypto assets. On-chain analyst Specter reported suspicious activity on wallets associated with the platform on August 9, 2026, around 13:00 UTC. The incident affected accounts on TRON and Ethereum networks. Specter noted that the hacker began laundering the stolen funds by converting them into Monero (XMR). The analyst also contacted the exchange ChangeNOW, which helped freeze part of the amount. Details of the hack were not disclosed, and the Coinsbuy team had not commented on the incident at the time of writing. However, Specter mentioned that the platform temporarily froze deposits and withdrawals. Coinsbuy is a payment gateway that assists companies in accepting payments in crypto assets and provides retail traders with the ability to buy and sell cryptocurrencies.
