The minutes from the Federal Reserve's June meeting indicate that most participants believe there are advantages to shortening the statement and support removing language that suggests a rate cut. The minutes mention that Fed Chair Waller proposed ending the "forward guidance" and reducing comments on future interest rate decisions. The Fed kept the benchmark interest rate unchanged in the range of 3.50%-3.75% during the June meeting, but the market widely expects a rate hike this year, with 9 out of 18 policymakers anticipating a slight increase in rates by the end of 2026.
