Increase in Bitcoin Holdings Concentrated in Strategy and Strive
The number of publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin is increasing, but the accumulation of Bitcoin is concentrated in two companies, Strategy and Strive. As of October 5, the total Bitcoin holdings of these two companies increased by 197,000 BTC, while the overall net increase in holdings for all companies was limited to 193,000 BTC. General companies added about 20,000 BTC, while other Bitcoin financial strategy companies added about 8,000 BTC, but large mining companies sold 32,800 BTC. The number of publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin has increased by 10% over the past year. Strive purchased 2,822 Bitcoins at an average price of approximately $83,266 on the 12th and 13th, and also disclosed an expected total fundraising amount of $369.2 million. Strategy invested $21.5 million to purchase 250 Bitcoins from the 5th to the 11th and repurchased 1,932,145 preferred shares of STRC for $192.4 million during the same period. Strive acquired 5,048.1 Bitcoins when it took over Semler Scientific in January this year, which is not new purchasing volume.
