Launch of Digital Asset Innovation Organization, Promoting Standardization of Deposit Tokens
The Digital Asset Innovation Organization (DCIO) announced that it will officially begin operations on October 1. The CEO is Katsuo Eijiro, and the Executive Advisor is Kuroda Haruhiko. DCIO aims to organize and standardize digital assets and payment infrastructure through the participation of financial institutions, businesses, and local governments, focusing on deposit tokens. CEO Katsuo Eijiro emphasized that digital assets have transitioned to a stage of social implementation and highlighted the need for a unified interface between industry and administration. A project team has also been launched within the Liberal Democratic Party, accelerating movements in policy. DCIO plans to establish three vice presidencies for its activities. Executives from major financial institutions such as SBI Shinsei Bank, GMO Aozora Net Bank, and Mitsubishi UFJ Bank will be included as directors. DCIO aims to establish common guidelines and standardization in the areas of commerce, administration, and finance, as well as to facilitate cooperation and interoperability between the public and private sectors and platforms. Additionally, it emphasizes the convenience of deposit tokens, aiming for smooth high-value payments while preventing misuse.
