Memecoin Traders Shift to AI and Semiconductor Stocks
The memecoin market, which exploded in 2024, now seems to be in decline. Many traders, like Rahul Patel, are abandoning cryptocurrencies to focus on stocks in the AI and semiconductor sectors. Patel emphasizes that this new approach is more enjoyable, allowing investors to maintain their investments without the anxiety associated with memecoins. The goal remains to enter the market early and capitalize on momentum. However, some analysts, such as Jukan Choe from Citrini Research, warn against a trading logic inspired by social media, which could lead to artificial price increases without solid fundamentals. This trend is reflected in the increased volumes on platforms like Hyperliquid, which generated over $8 billion last week, and Binance, where the daily volume of stock-related contracts surged from $85 million in February to $5.5 billion in July.
