Mirendil Discusses New Investment with a Valuation of $5 Billion
The artificial intelligence startup Mirendil is in discussions to raise up to $1 billion in new funding at a valuation of $5 billion. This valuation has increased fivefold from $1 billion in just about three months since its establishment. Founded this year, Mirendil has over 20 employees and aims to develop AI models that can improve their performance autonomously without human assistance. This process is known as 'recursive self-improvement,' where AI directly participates in research and development to create better AI. Mirendil plans to use the new investment for the launch of its AI models and training of next-generation models. According to Bloomberg, the company is pushing for the release of a frontier model to support engineering and research work by early next year. Three months ago, Mirendil raised $200 million in seed funding from Kleiner Perkins and Andreessen Horowitz, with a valuation of $1 billion at that time. Additionally, Mirendil has partnered with Google Cloud to utilize Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) for model development and is also leveraging NVIDIA's computing infrastructure.
