Mitsubishi Motors Partners with Highlanders to Deploy Humanoid Robots

Mitsubishi Motors has partnered with Japanese robotics company Highlanders to plan the deployment of humanoid robots by 2027, indicating that global automakers are accelerating their entry into the humanoid robotics sector. Currently, several leading robotics companies have formed partnerships with major automotive manufacturers, including Agility Robotics with Foxconn and Toyota, Apptronik with Jabil and Mercedes-Benz, Figure with BMW, Boston Dynamics with Hyundai, and Optimus with Tesla. Overseas humanoid robotics companies are increasingly forming deep ties with large automotive manufacturers, with some achieving vertical integration; in contrast, Chinese companies such as UBTech, AgiBot, and Unitree tend to collaborate with multiple automakers, adopting a more open partnership model. The market is watching how this trend in industry collaboration will evolve in the future.
