Moscow Exchange to Trade Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, and Tron Futures Starting September 2026
The Moscow Exchange will begin trading perpetual futures contracts linked to bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), solana (SOL), XRP, and tron (TRX) on September 22, 2026. Transactions will be settled daily in rubles, and contracts will be available only to qualified investors. These instruments allow participation in price fluctuations without acquiring the underlying asset. Quotes will be set in US dollars, and all settlements will be executed in Russian rubles. This offering will complement the existing line of perpetual futures, which includes 31 contracts on currencies, indices, and precious metals. Since the introduction of digital asset derivatives, over 72,000 qualified investors have traded on the platform, accumulating a volume exceeding 600 billion rubles (7.46 billion dollars). The Moscow Exchange ranked 23rd in the world in 2025 by market capitalization of listed companies, with a capitalization of 684 billion dollars. The incorporation of these derivatives reflects a shift in the country's policy regarding cryptocurrencies, which faced legal restrictions in the past. The local regulatory framework, backed by the Bank of Russia since May 28, 2026, allows for the offering of derivatives linked to the price of digital assets.
