Raoul Pal Expects Doubling of Crypto Users Due to AI
Raoul Pal expects that artificial intelligence will double the number of crypto users within 5 years. The former Goldman Sachs banker and co-founder of Real Vision predicts that AI programs will be able to make payments and purchase services independently. He states that digital users will act on behalf of people or companies, and that crypto networks will play a significant role in their mutual payments. In his piece 'Everything Will Be a Token', Pal describes an economy with billions of AI agents executing tasks autonomously. He believes these programs can trade computing power, energy, and data. Digital identities are, according to him, essential to demonstrate on whose behalf these programs are acting. Pal anticipates that development will go beyond digital money, also encompassing rights to products and services that are recorded as tokens. Examples include concert tickets, hotel reservations, and insurance. AI programs could, for instance, purchase additional computing capacity when needed. He emphasizes that consent and security are crucial in payments made by AI agents, with programs needing to stay within agreed spending limits.
