SEC Issues No-Action Letter to Tesla, Supporting Robinhood's Retail Voting Initiative
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today issued a no-action letter to Tesla, clearing the way for its initiative to empower retail investors through a shareholder voting program. Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev stated that when millions of people hold shares in a public company, shareholders should be able to participate in voting more conveniently. Robinhood has already facilitated direct interactions between several companies and their shareholders through in-app messages, retail voting programs, and earnings Q&A sessions, and it plans to introduce more related features in the future.
