South Korean Economy Improves Due to Strong Semiconductor Exports
The Korea Development Institute (KDI) noted in its monthly economic assessment report that the South Korean economy has shown widespread improvement driven by the semiconductor industry. Exports and equipment investment continue to grow strongly, propelled by the semiconductor sector, while durable goods consumption has accelerated the overall consumption growth rate. KDI stated that the service sector is performing well, manufacturing is rebounding, and production across all industries is achieving high growth rates. However, KDI warned that the South Korean economy still faces uncertainties such as U.S. tariff policies and geopolitical instability in the Middle East. Additionally, the current high level of inflation and deteriorating employment conditions also pose challenges to the economy.
