Stargate V1 Liquidity Pool to End on December 15, 2026
The Stargate V1 liquidity pool will cease operations on December 15, 2026. Remaining liquidity providers must check their positions and withdrawal availability before the deadline. LayerZero announced on its official blog on August 7 that it will deprecate LayerZero v1 (ULNv2) on December 15, 2026. Teams tied to ULNv2 may find that messages will not execute if they do not transition to ULNv301 before this date. CryptoBriefing reported that the Stargate V1 liquidity pool will close, and withdrawal fees will be waived until then. Stargate V1 is a cross-chain asset transfer structure introduced in March 2022, where assets are deposited in the source chain pool and the same assets are received in the destination chain pool. The end of V1 is more akin to an infrastructure shutdown than a simple interface overhaul. According to a proposal on the Stargate DAO forum, there has been little revenue generated from the V1 pool, and a plan has been proposed to transfer approximately $61.2 million in protocol-held liquidity to the V2 pool. DeFiLlama reports that the total deposit value of Stargate V1 is estimated at $34.57 million, with a 30-day fee of $46,529 and an annual fee of $567,654. LayerZero introduced Stargate as one of its products in a notice in December 2025, stating that Stargate's revenue from September to November 2025 was $2.4 million, of which $1.2 million was used for ZRO purchases. The end date for V1 has been confirmed as December 15, 2026, and users must verify their withdrawal procedures before this date.
