Tether and Circle Executives to Meet with CEO of Major South Korean Bank

BlockBeats News, August 21st, according to Decrypt, executives from Tether and Circle are scheduled to meet with the CEOs of several top financial groups in South Korea this week, including NewHan Financial Group CEO Jin Ok-dong and Hana Financial Group CEO Ham Young-joo. The meeting will focus on the potential distribution and use of the US dollar stablecoin in Korea, as well as the issuance of a Korean won-backed stablecoin. This meeting comes as South Korea prepares to launch a stablecoin regulatory framework in October this year, with the ruling party and the opposition party holding differing views on stablecoin regulation.
