U.S. Senate Investigation Finds Iran Uses USDT for 84% of Sanctioned Wallets

A survey conducted by the Democratic Party of the U.S. Senate reveals that USDT, a stablecoin issued by Tether, has become a primary payment method for Iran. The investigation found that approximately 84% of over 800 sanctioned cryptocurrency wallets primarily or exclusively use USDT. The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations stated that its review of blockchain records, sanction lists, and asset seizure notices found that the sanctioned wallets are mainly distributed across the Tron and Ethereum networks and have engaged in USDT transactions.
