Vitalik Buterin: Blockchain Has Evolved into a Cryptographically Secure Computing Network
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, stated at the 12th Global Blockchain Summit that blockchain has evolved from a tool at its inception into a cryptographically secure computing network. Initially, blockchain featured characteristics such as openness, neutrality, and security, but lacked privacy protection and scalability. The introduction of zero-knowledge proof technology has changed this situation, with privacy transactions and scalable verification now included in Ethereum's roadmap. Additionally, the application of technologies like fully homomorphic encryption and the potential for indistinguishable obfuscation may enable on-chain applications in the future. The parallel construction and proof of blocks make extreme scalability possible, prompting the Web3 industry to shift its focus from digital assets to the combination of digital assets and information, with attention moving from on-chain to user-end and transaction memory pools. With the development of AI, automated verification combined with cryptographic rules will significantly enhance verification efficiency and further expand the application possibilities of blockchain.
