X Sues Bitcoin Users for Fraud with Artificial Reach
X has filed a lawsuit against two users and unknown parties in the United Kingdom for abusing their rewards system. According to X, multiple bitcoin accounts artificially assisted each other to gain more reach, resulting in a combined profit of at least £207,384. X is demanding this amount back, as well as at least £75,000 for investigation costs and other expenses. The defendants, including Vivek Kumar Sen and Zamyang Sherpa, are alleged to be involved with six accounts that participated in the rewards program. X claims that these accounts helped each other with likes, comments, and shared posts, and that there were simultaneous responses to posts. X suspended the involved accounts back in August, and the case is now with the High Court in England and Wales. The evidence comes from X, and the defendants have the right to contest the allegations. X has replaced its old rewards program with Original Content Rewards, where artificially generated views no longer count.
