Zest Protocol Launches Bitcoin Collateral Vaults Mainnet Demo
The Bitcoin lending protocol Zest Protocol released its "Proof of Mainnet Deployment" on September 23, showcasing the Bitcoin Collateral Vaults mainnet demo, which is now independently verifiable. It disclosed three Bitcoin transactions and seven Ethereum transactions. The product design locks BTC in a Bitcoin mainnet vault without wrapping or cross-chain bridging, while providing the functionality to lend stablecoins on EVM chains like Ethereum. This feature is currently still a mainnet prototype and is not yet fully open for lending and borrowing. The official roadmap will be divided into two phases: Phase 1 will restrict BTC settlement paths using pre-signed transactions, while Phase 2 will transition to BitVM verification. A functional mainnet prototype is already available, and the team is accelerating the formal deployment.
