As of September 24, 39 fractional-price tokens priced below one won are trading on South Korea's major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, and Digitalx. Bithumb and Coinone each list 26 such tokens, while Upbit and Korbit have eight. Some tokens have remained below one won since their listing, while others have dropped below this threshold after losing over 99% of their value. In July, South Korea tightened delisting rules for penny stocks trading below 1,000 won, but crypto exchanges have different self-regulatory standards that do not include per-token prices in their monitoring criteria, allowing many sub-won tokens to remain listed.
