Agility Launches Humanoid Robot Digit 5, Enhancing Handling Capacity to 23 Kilograms

Agility Robotics announced the release of its next-generation humanoid robot, Digit 5, on September 15. This robot is capable of working closely with humans without physical safety barriers. Compared to its predecessor, Digit 4, Digit 5 utilizes AI algorithms and new sensors to recognize nearby individuals, allowing it to stop or sit down to avoid collisions when necessary. In terms of hardware, Digit 5's single handling capacity has increased from approximately 16 kilograms to about 23 kilograms, with a battery life of 90 minutes and a charging time of 9 minutes. The company has deployed the robot at nine customer sites, including Schaeffler, GXO Logistics, and Toyota Canada Manufacturing, accumulating over 65,000 operating hours, with long-term orders for Digit amounting to around $300 million. Agility plans to go public through a merger with SPAC Churchill Capital Corp XI, with a valuation of $2.5 billion.
