Author of "Saint Seiya" Sues Former Executive for Misappropriating 4.6 Billion Yen for Crypto Investments
The author of "Saint Seiya," Masami Kurumada, represented by three copyright and peripheral rights management companies, has filed a lawsuit in the Tokyo District Court. The plaintiffs claim that between approximately 2018 and 2024, a former director misappropriated about 4.6 billion yen of company funds, which were used for investments in cryptocurrency and other purposes. After deducting the approximately 1.8 billion yen that has been returned, the plaintiffs are seeking compensation for the remaining balance of about 2.8 billion yen.
