Glassnode Indicates Shift Towards Altcoin Season
Glassnode has detected a technical change in the capital flow of the digital asset market, indicating that the altcoin season has begun. The Altcoin Season Index stands at 49 points, far from the 75-point threshold needed to confirm that a sufficient proportion of altcoins is outperforming Bitcoin. During August, Bitcoin made significant gains while altcoins remained flat. However, the recent rally has sparked interest in the altcoin market. The altcoin cycle signal oscillator has crossed the upper threshold, indicating a surge in market breadth, although it does not guarantee uniform positive returns due to the risk profile and volatility of these assets. Additionally, it has been 361 days since the last recorded altseason, compared to the historical average of 67 days. The market capitalization of altcoins exceeds $1.294 trillion, showing an uptick from previous months, but still distant from past expansions.
