Next upgrade increases HIP-4 deployment limit and lowers funding fee cap
Co-founder Jeff Yan announced on the official Discord that the next network upgrade will increase the number of active results that a single deployer can maintain simultaneously from 100 to 200, and the daily deployment limit from 500 to 1000, based on feedback from builders. At the same time, the funding fee cap for perpetual contracts will be lowered from 4% per hour to 0.5%. The official stated that this cap is rarely reached in actual trading.
Hegota may be Ethereum's last "regular" upgrade before transitioning to a "cryptographic world computer"
Co-founder Vitalik Buterin published an article titled "The Cryptographic World Computer," stating that Ethereum is evolving from a traditional blockchain into a "cryptographic world computer" that integrates blockchain, cryptographic privacy and verification, as well as decentralized off-chain components. He predicts that the Hegota upgrade, planned for implementation next year, may be Ethereum's last "regular" upgrade, with future core directions including recursive STARK, automated formal verification, highly optimized consensus algorithms, and quantum security. Vitalik stated that by 2030, Ethereum's block validation will shift from full downloads and re-execution to SNARK validation and PeerDAS data availability sampling; consensus will transition to an optimized PoS with low time-slot finality and available chain mechanisms, and block construction will shift from a single block producer to multi-party participation. On the user side, stronger censorship resistance, privacy protection, lighter node operation requirements, and time slots of about 4 to 8 seconds and final confirmation times of about 8 to 32 seconds are expected. He mentioned that PeerDAS has initiated Ethereum's transformation from a simple blockchain to a more robust system, and after Hegota, this transformation will become Ethereum's main narrative.

Trump and House Speaker Johnson plan to meet with several top AI company CEOs at the White House on Tuesday, and this private dinner can be seen as a "warm-up" for that meeting.
Analyst: Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have performed poorly over the past decade, and the peak moment for cryptocurrencies has passed
Senior analyst Mike McGlone stated that from the perspective of risk and portfolio management, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies may be classified as underperforming assets over the past nearly decade. The Market Vector Digital Assets 100 Index (MVDA, about two-thirds Bitcoin) has been essentially flat since 2017, while the Nasdaq 100 Index (NDX) has continued to rise during the same period. Despite MVDA's volatility being about three times higher on average and positively correlated with the stock market, it has failed to provide effective risk diversification and has performed poorly from a risk and portfolio management perspective. McGlone believes that after Bitcoin futures were launched in 2017, cryptocurrencies entered the mainstream, and MVDA has not outperformed NDX since then; the listing of U.S. ETFs and the shift in stance before the 2024 Trump election may have marked the peak moment for cryptocurrencies. This situation is unlikely to change.

The so-called "anonymity attribute" of virtual currencies is fundamentally a false proposition
The Ministry of National Security published an article titled "Can Virtual Currency Crimes Be Tracked? Think Again!" which pointed out that virtual currencies have become important tools for criminals engaging in various illegal activities, breeding multiple security risks, including being a "hotbed" for money laundering crimes, a "cover" for cyber attacks, and an "accomplice" for espionage and theft. However, the so-called "anonymity attribute" of virtual currencies is fundamentally a false proposition, as blockchain retains complete transaction records and data, providing a basis for full-chain traceability. Looking at the ledger, the entire transaction leaves traces; checking the chain, real identities are hard to hide; discussing private keys, asset security has no bottom line.

Not an attack on the contract, over 200 ETH compensation has been issued
A statement released indicated that the recent incident was not an attack on the contract, but rather the application was affected by the fraudulent network "GIWA Chain 9134." This network was initiated by the operator controlling the bridging infrastructure, ultimately draining the real ETH supporting the network. The restored dataset shows that about 1,335 addresses bridged funds, with approximately 767.65 ETH entering the bridge, and ultimately about 766.25 ETH was drained; there were 1,479 operational records on that chain, of which 1,148 were successful, involving 298 wallets and 104 pools; over 200 ETH compensation has been issued to affected users using self-owned funds. The team is continuing to trace the deployers, sources of funds, batch processing infrastructure, and the flow of drained funds, and based on on-chain evidence, distinguish between attackers and real victims. Previous reports indicated that a false mainnet scam caused users to lose about 766 ETH.
