OnlyMarms Memecoin Outraises OnlyFans for Marmot Study

A Solana meme coin, OnlyMarms, has raised more funds than its OnlyFans campaign in just days. The OnlyFans page was launched by researchers at the Marmot Adaptive Dynamics (M.A.D.) Lab after a grant renewal was denied, with initial earnings around 4000 dollars. This figure has since increased to over 6000 dollars after OnlyFans took its 20% cut. The lab, which studies yellow-bellied marmots in Colorado since 1962, has also explored other fundraising methods, including a Marmot Tears IPA and an upcoming Fat Marmot Week event. However, the community-launched token OnlyMarms on Pump.fun has proven to be more successful, generating over 14000 dollars in crypto donations, more than double that of OnlyFans. OnlyMarms is currently trading near 0.0005 dollars, having increased over 70% in 24 hours. The long-term sustainability of this funding source remains uncertain, as meme coin volumes typically decline after initial interest fades. The lab continues to seek traditional grant funding alongside these new channels.
