Moscow Exchange Launches Perpetual Futures for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Tron
The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) has started trading perpetual futures contracts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Tron. The contracts are quoted in US dollars, but settlements occur in Russian rubles. The country has been accelerating the adoption of cryptocurrencies since the beginning of the war against Ukraine, including proposals to regulate the sector and increase market access for investors. MOEX had already offered traditional futures for Bitcoin and Ethereum since November 2025 and for Solana, XRP, and Tron since May 2026, but with monthly expirations. The new contracts are perpetual, with no expiration date. Maria Patrikeeva, managing director of the MOEX derivatives market, highlighted the strong demand for derivative financial instruments on digital assets and the importance of providing access to these instruments within the Russian legal framework. Since the launch of the first futures on digital assets, more than 72,000 qualified investors have traded these contracts, with a total trading volume exceeding 600 billion rubles. The new contracts have tickers BTCUSDF, ETHUSDF, SOLUSDF, XRPUSDF, and TRXUSDF, referencing the prices of the indices MOEXBTC, MOEXETH, MOEXSOL, MOEXXRP, and MOEXTRX. Additionally, the new contracts will complement the existing product line of MOEX.
