Serenity Optimistic About ESMT's Future Performance, Significant Price Increase Potential for Memory Chips
Serenity expressed optimism on platform X regarding the future performance of memory chip manufacturer Elite Semiconductor Memory Technology (ESMT, 3006), believing its trend may replicate the strong market performance of SanDisk (SNDK) in the coming months. Currently, the price of a DDR2 memory chip is approximately $0.96. If the ASP (average selling price) increases threefold, the cost per unit will rise by about $2. Although this cost increase is relatively limited for end products, it could significantly impact ESMT's profits if memory products continue to rise in price. SLC NAND is expected to see an ASP increase of 120% to 170% in the second half of the year, and there are also expectations for price increases in products like NOR Flash. Based on July's performance, ESMT's monthly net profit is approximately $111 million, with a market capitalization of around $2.8 billion, indicating substantial room for revaluation. ESMT's situation is reminiscent of early Sandisk, with opportunities primarily concentrated in the traditional and niche storage markets.
