Ukraine Warns Airlines of Flight Dangers in Russia
Ukraine has reached out to international airlines, insurers, and governments with a warning about the dangers of using Russian airspace and airports. Flights over Russia, particularly towards Moscow and St. Petersburg, are becoming impossible due to the regular presence of drones. The statement indicates that Ukraine does not attack civilian aircraft, but military operations and drone launches pose a threat to flight safety. Airlines and insurers are advised to consider the risks and avoid flights to Russian airports. Ambassadors of foreign states are to relay the warnings to their capitals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide data on threats in Russian airspace to international aviation organizations. Russia's airspace is effectively closing due to the war, and civil aviation cannot operate safely amid combat drones.
