Vice Governor of the Central Bank Points Out New Risks Brought by AI Technology
Lu Lei, Vice Governor of the People's Bank of China, stated at the China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Forum that advancements in artificial intelligence technology have introduced new risks such as algorithmic black boxes and model hallucinations. He pointed out that the new generation of AI technology, represented by large models and intelligent agents, is not only an important tool for financial services but may also pose deep challenges to the financial industry. Artificial intelligence can learn and analyze the underlying logic of human behavior, but humans find it difficult to understand its internal decision-making processes. This asymmetrical understanding highlights the importance of security governance.
