Volatility Shares Delays 3x XRP ETF Application to October 18, 2026
Volatility Shares has set the new date for its 3x leveraged XRP ETF plan to October 18, 2026. In a regulatory filing dated September 18, the effective date for the fund's registration statement has been pushed to this day. However, this filing does not confirm the date when trading will begin. The new date does not imply approval or the start of trading. The regulatory text states that the purpose of the transaction is to delay the implementation of a previous amendment concerning the 3x XRP ETF. Therefore, the October 18, 2026 date should not be read directly as a launch schedule. Volatility Shares currently offers a 2x leveraged XRP ETF under the ticker XRPT, along with a standard XRP ETF product. The planned 3x product is intended to expand the existing leveraged product line. The proposed fund will present a structure that carries higher risk compared to the current leveraged XRP products in the market. 3x ETFs aim to track approximately three times the daily performance of XRP. The daily rebalancing mechanism amplifies the compound effect even during periods of high volatility. Interest in XRP investment products continues; spot XRP ETFs have gathered approximately $1.7 billion in net inflows to date. Institutional interest is not limited to spot products. Morgan Stanley has disclosed positions in XRP-linked ETFs. Additionally, the repeated delays of the 2x leveraged XRP ETF point to an imbalanced structure in the XRP ETF market.
