Google Unveils New Gemini Models, Delay in Release of 3.5 Pro

Google has introduced three new accessible versions of its Gemini artificial intelligence model, including Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, as well as a specialized variant, Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, designed for cybersecurity. The release of the flagship version, Gemini 3.5 Pro, which was initially scheduled for June, has been delayed by several weeks due to the model not meeting the company's internal goals, particularly in the area of code writing. Google estimates that the transition to Gemini models could save businesses over $1 billion annually. Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber is positioned as a cost-effective alternative to expensive cybersecurity models. The company has assured that Gemini 3.5 Pro is undergoing testing with partners and will be available soon, and training for the next generation of Gemini 4 models has also begun.
