Iran Proposes to Open Strait of Hormuz Within 7 Days After U.S. Lifts Blockade
Senior Iranian officials have revealed that Iran has informed the Trump administration that if the U.S. agrees to lift the military blockade on Iranian ports and other demands, Iran will open the Strait of Hormuz within 7 days. Iran plans to negotiate with mediating countries based on this proposal during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Iranian government officials stated that if the U.S. not only lifts the port blockade but also indicates a halt to military actions around the strait, Iran will agree to open the strait as soon as possible. The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Rezaei, stated on the 19th of this month that resuming negotiations with the U.S. requires the acceptance of seven conditions, including lifting the port blockade and unfreezing Iranian assets.
