Iranian Official States Conditions Must Be Met for Strait of Hormuz to Reopen
The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council stated that the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen until the conditions proposed by Iran are met, and Iran will not engage in negotiations. He criticized U.S. President Trump’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly, claiming that he attempted to justify his actions with the image of a "failed aggressor," and that nearly all of his remarks revolved around Iran, indicating that Iran has become the main issue facing U.S. policy. He pointed out that U.S. military actions have not weakened Iran's strength; rather, they have enhanced Iran's international influence, stating that Iran has become the "fourth strongest country in the world." He mentioned that Iran has, for the first time, detonated anti-ship missiles over the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Washington, demonstrating the limitations of U.S. military power.
