Uniswap v4 Receives SEC Exemption, Promoting Compliant AMM Trading
Hayden Adams, founder of Uniswap Labs, stated that U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce pointed out in her recent comment letter that truly decentralized systems do not require exemptions, meaning that permissionless AMMs (like the main Uniswap protocol) are not subject to this exemption arrangement. The SEC exemption terms primarily target the permissioned pools in Uniswap v4, providing a pathway for specific assets and users to conduct compliant AMM trading in the U.S. Adams mentioned that Uniswap will submit a comment letter with suggestions for improvements regarding the relevant rules.
