US 30-Year Treasury Yield Rises to 5.4583%, Hitting a 22-Year High
The yield on the US 30-year Treasury bond has risen to 5.4583%, marking a new 22-year high; the yield on the two-year US Treasury bond increased by 0.85 basis points to 4.904%. The market's pricing of long-term risks has significantly increased, with concerns about persistent inflation, the Federal Reserve maintaining high interest rates, and the sustainability of massive fiscal deficits and debt intensifying. The long-term borrowing costs for governments, businesses, and consumers have been pushed higher, which typically suppresses stock market valuations and tightens global financial conditions, potentially restraining economic growth.
