X Sues Two for Fraudulent Acquisition of Creator Rewards, Seeks Return of $278,000
Claims Reward Manipulation via Bitcoin-Related Account Network
X has filed a lawsuit against two individuals for allegedly misusing the creator revenue sharing program through a network of Bitcoin (Bitcoin/BTC) related accounts.
X claims that the defendants artificially inflated engagement by linking multiple accounts, receiving at least £207,384 (approximately $278,000). The lawsuit was submitted to the High Court of England and Wales on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The defendants named are Vivek Kumar Sen and Zamyam Sherpa, with other unidentified associates also believed to be involved.
According to X, six accounts, including "Vivek4real_", "Bitcoin_Teddy", "saylordocs", "TrendingBitcoin", "Kalshibacktest", and "PolyBackTest", participated in the creator revenue sharing program. Additionally, three accounts, "BTC_Vibes", "MrSuperBitcoin", and "Laserlump", were said to have boosted engagement through likes, replies, and reposts on posts.
The lawsuit highlights instances where multiple accounts took nearly identical actions within a short time frame. On August 5, "Vivek4real_" and "TrendingBitcoin" posted similar content with an 11-second difference, and on August 13, three accounts reportedly replied to the same post within 31 seconds.
X alleges that these coordinated actions created the illusion of higher engagement than actually existed, fraudulently increasing rewards from the program.
Payment Information and Device Data Indicate Account Connections
X has also cited payment information and device data as evidence of the relationships between the accounts. The Stripe account linked to "Bitcoin_Teddy" was registered under the name "Stefan Mann", but the bank account and email address were associated with Sen.
Furthermore, X claims that multiple accounts shared device identifiers, software clients, and cookies. On August 18, X suspended nine accounts involved, citing "organized revenue sharing fraud and platform manipulation".
The lawsuit seeks to recover the alleged £207,384 (approximately ¥43.5 million) that was fraudulently paid, along with at least £75,000 (approximately ¥15.73 million) for investigation, analysis, repair, and prevention of recurrence. Excluding interest and legal costs, the total claim amounts to at least £282,384 (approximately ¥59.2 million).
X asserts that the actions constitute fraud, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and conspiracy through illegal means. However, these allegations have not yet been heard by the court, and as of September 21, no formal response has been submitted by the defendants.
