11 Democratic Senators Urge Senate Banking Committee to Hold Hearing on Prediction Markets
Eleven Democratic senators are urging Tim Scott, the chairman of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, to hold a hearing on prediction markets. The committee is planning to hold a prediction market roundtable next week that will only include Republican members, focusing on securities prediction markets, with representatives from Kalshi expected to attend. Currently, the primary regulatory authority over prediction markets falls under the Senate Agriculture Committee and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
