Citadel Withdraws US Lawsuit Against Portofino, Seeks Bankruptcy in the UK to Recover £6 Million
Citadel Securities has withdrawn its trade secret lawsuit against Portofino Technologies in the United States and is now pursuing bankruptcy proceedings in the UK to recover nearly £6 million in London arbitration compensation. Citadel has filed documents in a New York court, jointly requesting the dismissal of the case with Portofino, stating that continuing the US lawsuit lacks economic value, as even a victory would be difficult to enforce for repayment. This case has been a nearly three-year international dispute without a substantive ruling on the trade secret allegations. Citadel emphasized that the withdrawal does not imply that the trade secret claims are unfounded; it has won in London arbitration, but the founder has not fulfilled the payment, prompting the application to initiate bankruptcy proceedings against Portofino's founder to enforce the debt.
