Financial Company 'Royal Finance 1' Appeals NBU Fine of UAH 391,000
The financial company 'Royal Finance 1' has filed a lawsuit against the National Bank of Ukraine due to a fine of UAH 391,000 for violating financial monitoring requirements. The NBU imposed the fine in July 2026, identifying deficiencies in transaction control and compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements. The regulator pointed out inadequate updates of internal documents and shortcomings in the risk-oriented approach. There were also complaints regarding the performance of the person responsible for financial monitoring, the formation of statistical reporting, and the provision of information upon NBU requests. The NBU noted that the company improperly provided a list of clients with current information. The court is now to assess the legality of the imposed fine. In July, the NBU also fined two banks and 19 non-bank institutions for similar violations.
