Russian Central Bank Allows Mutual Funds to Invest in Cryptocurrency-Related Instruments
The Central Bank of Russia has amended the investment rules for mutual funds, allowing funds aimed at professional investors to invest in settlement indices linked to digital currency quotes. Retail mutual funds can allocate a portion of their assets to non-public Russian securities and foreign securities, including tokenized securities and shares of U.S. exchange-traded funds linked to cryptocurrency prices, with a maximum investment limit of 10% for related assets and 20% for closed-end funds.
