BlackRock Holds 890,000 Bitcoins Worth $69 Billion
BlackRock holds over 890,000 bitcoins valued at $69 billion, making it the largest amount of cryptocurrency owned by a single company or individual. BlackRock manages $60 billion in bitcoins for the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) ETF. In second place is Michael Saylor's Strategy with 845,050 BTC worth $66 billion, of which 184,000 are held by custodian Fidelity Custody, ranking third with $34 billion in bitcoins. The Kraken exchange has $20 billion in bitcoins, while the hacker who breached Mt.Gox possesses $6.1 billion. The UK government owns $4.7 billion in bitcoins, and the US government holds around $25 billion, although most of these assets are tied up in legal disputes. Ranked 35th on the Arkham list are addresses associated with the Russian government, holding 1,032 BTC worth $80.3 million. Russia ranks 6th among governments in terms of cryptocurrency reserves.
