River lost 1-0 to Rosario Central at the Monumental Stadium, worsening their football crisis in the third round of the 2026 Clausura Tournament. This result marks the club's fifth consecutive defeat in AFA competitions, a streak not seen since 1911. The only goal of the match was an own goal by Nicolás Otamendi in the 27th minute of the first half, following a cross from Jaminton Campaz. With this result, River finds itself at the bottom of Zone B with no points and out of the qualification spots for the 2027 Copa Sudamericana.
